ANNA HAN KOREA, b. 1982

Biography

Anna Han draws inspiration from given environments, reinterpreting spaces by transforming her life experiences and emotions into physical form. Through a personal and emotional approach grounded in formal and minimal elements, she invites viewers to actively engage with the environment.

 

Han studied painting at Pratt Institute in New York and Cranbrook Academy of Art in Michigan, and attended the Skowhegan School of Painting & Sculpture. She has held solo exhibitions including Mr. Conjunction is Waiting (Art Center Art Moment, 2023), Pawns in Space 0.5 (Gallery Baton, Seoul, 2017), The Artists of Tomorrow (Cheongju Museum of Art, 2017), and Da Capo (OCI Museum of Art, Seoul, 2014). In 2018, she presented a solo booth at Art Basel Hong Kong. Her work has also been featured in major institutions such as the SongEun Art and Cultural Foundation, Wooyang Museum of Contemporary Art, Museum SAN, Goyang Aramnuri Arts Center, and the Busan Biennale Special Exhibition, as well as in various exhibitions across the United States, including in New York, Michigan, and Maine.

 

Han has participated in international artist residencies in Cheongju, Goyang, New York, Bad Ems (Germany), Tokyo, and Seoul. Her works are included in the collections of the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea (MMCA), the Seoul Museum of Art (SeMA), and other institutions.
