〈Attitude Becomes Form〉 is a curated exhibition that delves into how an artist’s attitude the direction of their thought and the methodology of their practice inevitably manifests as a visual form.
Rather than focusing solely on the final output, this exhibition illuminates the unique sensibilities of each artist: their approach to materials, their choices between repetition and pause, and their relationship with the canvas and space. An artist’s attitude remains invisible, yet it patiently accumulates through the rigorous process of creation, eventually condensing into a tangible form. Here, form is not an accident but a culmination of attitude; the artwork is presented as the purest state that this attitude can achieve.
The four participating artists Woojung Ghil, Jeeyeon Kim, June Lee, and Pascual Ovalle utilize diverse media and formative languages. However, they resonate deeply in their shared belief that attitude, preceding formal structure, serves as the core engine of their work. Their pieces are not bound by a singular style but are loosely connected through the common root of a persistent, thoughtful attitude.
By juxtaposing the works of these four artists, 〈Attitude Becomes Form〉 showcases the dynamic process by which a single attitude is translated into a multitude of forms. We invite the audience to look beyond the finished pieces and encounter the very "attitude" with which these artists perceive and confront the world.
