LEE SANGJIN KOREA

Biography
Lee Sang Jin is a Seoul-based designer and artist who explores the intersections of light, emotion, and form. After graduating from Domus Academy in Milan, he was selected in 2006 as a “Leading Next-Generation Designer” by the Korean Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. He is currently a professor in the Department of Design at Seoul National University of Science and Technology.
His long-running ReThink Project, centered on the theme of “seeing differently,” has been featured in publications such as &fork (Phaidon), and presented in numerous international exhibitions including Made in Korea (Hannover, 2009), 100% Design (London, 2008), Salone Satellite (Milan, 2006), Designersblock (London, 2004 & 2006), and Sydney Esquisse (Sydney, 2005).
Since 2007, Lee has deepened his exploration into the emotive and sensorial qualities of light through the ongoing series Lighting Talk, which examines light as a medium for poetic form, sensory interaction, and technological switching—unfolding its expansive potential across both design and art contexts.
